Dry Tree Spade Hole - Not Good!

While we have had a little rain lately in the past week, it has done very little to the subsoil moisture. We were moving trees today and you can really see the long term effects from this summer's drought. Here in this photo you can see where we took a plug out over 40" deep and it is completely dry at the bottom of the plug! This is not good for us, at this depth we should be seeing very moist soil and adequate or free water. Not the case this year. We need some very good and long soaking rains to help replenish our sub soil moisture.
