Week 14 Update

I am writing my weekly blog update one day early because of some light rain we are experiencing in the area. I am thankful that most of the heavy rain has gone North of us. So far today we have gotten .2”. The turf really needed some precipitation but it has slowed down the earth work and the sod laying for today.

Again we had some very dry weather for the first 4 days of this week. On Monday all of the sodding was completed on the 1st tee area. We still have to install bentgrass sod on some tee tops but that will happen when we have some more tees built and then we can ship in a large order of bentgrass sod.

#5 tee area was finish graded and this was going to be our main focus of bluegrass installation this morning. Looks like we will have to wait until tomorrow to finish off this area.

LUI has their people staged out all over the project. One team is still installing drainage, there is a group doing bunker work, a group doing tee work, bull dozers are rough shaping tees and cart paths. Installation of all of the large main lines is completed and this group will now focus on installing sprinkler heads around tees and bunkers. Cart path people are scheduled to be here in a week or so to finish up the cart paths.

On Thursday we had a visit from Mr. Bill Kubly the owner and founder of Landscapes Unlimited. It was really nice that he took the time out of his busy schedule to come here and check out the progress of our project. He is a very interesting man and he really knows the golf business and his business.

Overall progress is really being made when we have dry weather. If we can avoid the big rains we should have it completed on schedule.
