2016 Bird Watch Open

Each year we try to host some bird watching experts out to the club for what used to be called the Bird Watch Open. We feel it is still a lot of merit in hosting a local event to see what species of winged friends might be at your golf course. The one thing that was very encouraging was the larger number of bluebirds that were seen this year. We do believe our efforts with nesting boxes has really helped over the past few years.

This years participants were

Ben Taylor
Sharon Stiwell
Dick Stilwell
Jane Clark
Diane Dentlinger

The following birds were seen on the golf course this past Saturday Morning, May 7, 2016 and the number that they saw. We thank them for their passion and their efforts to come out and do a bird count here at Des Moines Golf.
