March 2, 2023

Some of our seasonal staff started back to work yesterday. We spent the better part of the morning outfitting them in uniforms, doing the on boarding process and reviewing safety training videos.

Yesterday was the first day that we were out on the golf courses. Turf has over wintered well, and we don’t expect to see any problems. There is still some frost in the ground on the north facing slopes. Lot of debris down from the winter storms and crews started raking sticks and debris into piles for clean up later.

The first load of our new golf carts was delivered to the dealer in Britt, Iowa. They will finish installing the new GPS units on those carts and do some other little things to them before they are delivered to us

We treated our cottonwood trees yesterday with a growth retardant to help slow the production of the cottonwood seeds later in the year. We have had very good success with this process and hopefully our timing is right on.

We will be treating our no mow areas with a pre-emergent product later this weed to control grassy weeds.

We will no longer be using the red, white and blue color flags this year. Once our GPS units on our carts are operational we will be using that system to give you distance to the flag. The South Course will have a red color flag and the North Course will have a blue color flag. Many years ago that was the paint scheme used on all of the golf course furniture when it was placed out on the golf courses.

Overall things are progressing nicely, and it looks like a normal spring so far.
